Admission Details for Training of Craft Instractors (CTI)

The Craft Instructor training scheme consists of four modules viz., Trade Technology –I,Trade Technology -II ,Training Methodology and Engineering Technology with three months duration each.
The admission for the craft instructor training course (Modular pattern) at CTI Guindy, Chennai-32 as per the following schedule every year:

The four Modules of Craft Instructor Training programme with their duration, eligibility and commencement, are given below.Trade Technology module I & II are offered for the following trades. Training Methodology and Engineering Technology are offered in the following trade groups.

Note: A Trainee has to complete all the four modules and pass the prescribed trade test with in a period of three years from the Admission into the first Module in the Craft Instructor Training, To become Eligible for National Craft Instructor Certificate.Completion of TT-1 module is necessary prior to admission in TT-2 module.
Certificate: Successful trainees are awarded certificate of proficiency by the National Council for Vocational Training, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India.
  1. Admission Qualification: Candidates who have passed National Trade Certificate or National Apprenticeship Certificate or Degree or Diploma in relevant branch of Engineering in the concerned trade are eligible to apply. Candidates must produce the original certificate at the time of admission. Completion of TT-1 module is necessary for admission to TT-2 module.
  2. Age Limit: Minimum 14 Years. There is no upper age limit.
Preference of admission to trainees are given in the following order :-
  1. Candidates sponsored by the Directorate of States/Union Territories In charge of Craftsmen Training will be given first preference.
  2. Second preference will be given to the candidates sponsored by the affiliated Private ITIs, (for the instructors of the affiliated trades only), GOI Depts., Industrial Organizations. In case of candidates sponsored by Private ITIs, their application should be submitted along with pay slips and attendance record for the last 6 months, and routed through respective DETs/ (or) copy of affiliation certificate issued by DGE&T for respective trades.
  3. Third preference will be given to the candidates who have completed three/two/one modules in that order. In case, it becomes necessary to prepare merit list for such candidates who have completed same number of modules then the admission will be offered on the basis of separate merit only.
  4. Remaining vacant seats, if any, will be filled-up by Private candidates on merit basis.

Limited Hostel Accommodation is available on first come first serve at nominal service charges as given in the Table. Mess facility is also available on payment basis. Cooking inside hostel rooms is strictly prohibited. In case of non availability of hostel candidates have to make their own arrangements. Candidate seeking admission shall apply in the application format which can be downloaded from this website (or) obtain application through request with a self addressed envelope addressed to the Principal, CTI, Guindy, Chennai – 32, (or) on request through e-mail from ctiadmission[at]gmail[dot]com. Registration Fee of Rs.50/- is charged at the time of submitting the filled in application, by way of Indian Postal Order or Demand Draft in favour of PAY & Accounts Officer, PAO, DGET-II, Chennai – 32, (SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying Reg. fee). Attested copies of required educational qualifications should be submitted along with the application form.How to Apply

In the case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex Serviceman categories, they should produce the copies of the certificates issued by competent authority, along with the application. Original certificates will have to be submitted at the time of admission and it will be retained till the completion of the course.
Incomplete application will be summarily rejected. Filled in application form should be submitted to “The Principal Central Training institute for instructors, THIRU-VI- KA Industrial Estate, Guindy, Chennai-600 032”.
Important Notice : DGE&T, New Delhi and the principal, CTI Chennai reserves the right to discontinue any trade at its discretion with out assigning any reason and notice. No trainee shall apply/ forward the application directly to DGE&T, HQ, New Delhi and the same shall not be entertained.
No Original certificate to be sent along with the application form. Under any circumstances, Principal CTI, Chennai will not be responsible for loss of any original certificates.
The fees shown in table 5 (1), (2) , (3) & (4) once collected will not be refunded, in case, if the trainee withdraws from training at any time after admission or when terminated for any reasons.
